Hello from Bonaire in the Caribbean, where I've been for about two weeks now. I want to talk a bit more about travel today, because I noticed people have different reasons why they travel (and no, I don't normally travel with these kinds of dresses and shoes ;)). What are your main reasons why you travel? To escape reality? To recover from all the stress you’re experiencing at work? To experience a new culture? To learn a new language?
How excited are you about the holidays? :) I am SO MUCH! And I have a FREE holiday training for you next week, so keep reading or click here to sign up right away! Growing up, it was the time of the year I LOVED the most!
When I first saw THE TRUE COST documentary about the fast fashion industry and how polluting and unethical it is, my clothing consumption completely stopped. I was 100% unable to spend money on anything that wasn’t transparent, produced in an ethical way and fair trade. I was in shock for at least a year.
I don’t like to talk about lots of negativity in general, as I believe focusing on that leaves us with even more negativity. But when it comes to fashion, I really think everybody should know what’s going on here.
It’s time for #haulternatives, alternatives to the crazy shopping hauls lots of young girls do on YouTube nowadays. It’s not about the masses of clothes you can buy for less money, it’s about the love and respect you have for what you already own.
So let me share my #lovestory with my jeans with you! I can’t remember when I bought these, but it must have been while I was still at university, and I finished Uni in 2010. I bought it at @veromoda(#whomademyclothes please?) as this was way before there was anything like a fashion revolution.
Living a glowing life means living a conscious life. And that means that everything we do, and everywhere we spend money, we need to ask for transparency. And this includes clothing.
After watching the documentary @truecostmovie in 2015, my entire life changed. I was SHOCKED by how our fashion is made! I cried during the entire film and thought I was living on a different planet.
Today is Earth Day, a day to honor Mother Earth and the beautiful gifts she gives us. A day to honor nature and all the amazingness and beauty it has to offer.
If there was no Mother Earth, there would be no US. Because we are nature.
If there was no Mother Earth, there would be no food. Because our food is nature (well, if you eat a mostly plant-based and healthy diet).
I woke up at 8am on Saturday, ready to get excited for my beloved Glow School Event with my VIP ladies from all over the world! I had 8 women signed up for this mini weekend retreat and could not wait to get started! It was one of those days where I checked my phone before I meditated and checked in with my higher self...
So, last weekend, I hosted my first international Glow School Event in Madrid, Spain! If you’re new here: Glow School is my online coaching course, which covers all elements of holistic health & beauty that I truly believe bring out that magic glow in you! In Glow School, we cover everything from the law of attraction and how the subconscious mind works, to health and food, the chakra energy basics, essential oils and more nature love…
Finally, we're getting to the workshops we did in Thailand last month! Everybody got to know each other and had fun at Nikki Beach hotel for a yummy brunch, party and sun beds!
Once we arrived at the villa, we started with the first workshop! After our initial chakra meditation, we tapped into our past. Into the old stories we keep telling ourselves. Into the anxieties and the fears that keep us so blocked sometimes.
THE EXPERIENCE OF A LIFETIME
Never had I thought I could make this happen. It's been a dream of mine for almost 3 years to host a retreat with women and work with them on self-love and self-care, and on their health, lifestyle, and wellness goals. Now this dream has come true. And I still can't believe it!
PROOF that you can do, be, and have ANYTHING you want.
2 years and 7 days ago, I had my last day in my job as a Store Manager at Apple Retail. I really enjoyed my job, but realized that I spent ALL my energy and enthusiasm at work, and when I got home after work, I was often so exhausted that I even had to cancel appointments with friends sometimes, because I just couldn't make it to leave the house. My body was constantly running on low...
I just came back from a wonderful vacation in Zanzibar, Tanzania, nicely tanned, relaxed and super happy! BUT on the first day of my vacation, I didn’t feel like this AT ALL! The biggest culture shock EVER! The boat from Daressalaam to Zanzibar was one of the worst experiences I’d ever had. We drove into the port with a taxi and about five people walked besides the taxi, hoping to carry our luggage for 50m and get tipped for that. We had to FIGHT to not have our bags taken out of our hands!
I just came back from two amazing weeks in Bali, where we filmed a social media campaign for Cetaphil, called „The Cetaphil Experience“. It’s a 4 day skin care retreat which educates and empowers women from all over southeast Asia on Skin Confidence. I was the host of the whole experience and lead everyone through fun activities and an interesting program. This is the second time we’re doing this event. Last year, it took place in the Philippines, which was also incredible! (You can watch some videos from last year here!)
Last month I participated in a very exciting event with Cetaphil! I was asked to fly over to the Philippines for a 3-day skin care retreat to do some confidence workshops with lots of young Asian women! Cetaphil TH, MY, SG and PH all made a huge Facebook competition where women from all over southeast Asia were able to participate. As of what I heard, there were over 16.000 women participating in this competition! Everyone had to tell Cetaphil what #SkinConfidence meant to them...
