Self-Care Tips For a Peaceful Weekend After a Busy Week

Hey beauties! How are you feeling today?

I must confess it hasn't been the easiest week for me, and every day, I had to kick myself in the butt to get up and shift my energy.

All I am doing right now is changing what is in my control - which honestly isn't "much" you would think. But it truly is a LOT actually.

All you can control right now is how you feel and how you look at the situation in the world and at your own life.

Everything else - is pretty much 100% out of your control.

Here's what my week at home has looked like (which isn't really different from any other week for me, because I work from home anyway)

Here are some of the things I've done this week and you can do this weekend to feel peaceful from within:

1) SHAKE IT OFF

I posted this simple, yet powerful shaking exercise on IGTV the other day, it's 1 song, 7 minutes, you just move your body and shake off all the fears, the worries, the uncertainty.

One of my mentors always says: How you move moves you. It's true. If you click here and shake with me and feel the same afterwards, I will not believe you :) Trust me, this works.

2) WORKOUT FROM YOUR LIVING ROOM

Since I can't go to my boxing classes at the moment, and my FAVORITE NYC "The Class" studio is now available online, I signed up for The Class, which is a what seems to be simple workout class - but paired with powerful AF breathing and screaming to truly release any stagnation and mental and emotional blocks.

Lol yes, when I took my clients to their live classes in NYC last year, it definitely felt like we were in a tribe of witches! Yesterday, I pretty much cried throughout the entire class, it's truly healing.

3) CLEAN UP YOUR HOME

Yesterday, I cleaned my shoes, put away my winter boots, washed my winter jackets, and destroyed my favorite wool scarf (HANDWASH ONLY!!). Anyway, it is what it is, but at least I'm ready for spring now :)

You'll probably spend quite some time at home in the next few weeks, so you may as well make it beautiful and shiny all over!

4) GARDEN, COOK, BAKE, BREW

I've been using my first chives for my breakfasts, have prepared my garden for spring (and made it cat poop proof!), been sprouting, making my favorite cherry Kombucha and baking bread and chocolate soufflés at 10pm.

Now is the time to try a new recipe from all the cookbooks that have been collecting dust on the shelves!

5) THROW A SOLO DANCE PARTY

Of course one more movement that has been part of my daily routines this week: dancing. Just play an uplifting song and dance around in your apartment (or outside, no matter if your neighbors are watching!). I've been dancing with my reflection in the mirror and she's been so good at following my choreography ;)

THIS, TOO, SHALL PASS

This is not about "oh let's just forget about the worries and be happy" and ignore what's going on or avoid the heavy feelings.

This is about SHIFTING your energy. Transforming your energy through movement and action to physically feel lighter and create more space in your field.

This is not about going from 1 of feeling completely lost and anxious to 10 of feeling happy like everything was perfect. But maybe you can shift from a 1 to a 2. Or from a 4 to a 5. It does make a difference.

Finally it's a time we really need to spend with ourselves. Reflect on how we are behaving, how we are feeling in this situation.

Am I judging everyone who's still on the streets?

Am I judging the old people who still go grocery shopping?

Am I taking the best care of myself?

Am I letting fear take me down the rabbit hole into a worst case scenario future?

Am I seeing the abundance and the gratitude in the things I do have right now?

Am I taking care of what still is in my control?

Take a step back.
Slow down.
Sleep longer.
Shower off the worries.
Breathe.
Walk slower.
Play with the kids.
And breathe again.

Be present.

It's all we have right now (actually it's always the only thing we have, but right now, it may feel more powerful than in other times).

Let's take one day at a time right now.

May you have a peaceful weekend.

Lots of love and blessings,
Martina xx
