What is your title?

What is your business all about?

Chakra Intimates is spiritually inspired lingerie and lounge wear, created with sustainable, plant based fabrics to provide the wearer a sense of personal power, enhanced well-being and support by the earth’s energy. Over each chakra center is a hand-sewn, reiki charged and ethically sourced gemstone that creates a beautiful product that has supportive energy infused into it. I feel Chakra Intimates is for the woman who wants a deeper connection with herself and the planet.

What inspired you do to what you're doing? WHY are you doing this?

Although I studied fashion in college, my career took a spiritual detour and for the past 18 years I’ve actually been in the field of wellness as I’ve grown my private practice of therapeutic massage and various healing modalities. It was through a personal healing journey of my own, bringing awareness through Reiki and gemstone therapy to my sacral chakra—which happens to be the center for creative energy—that inspired the idea of creating an intimate channel to harness the healing power of the stones that could benefit the wearer all day long.

I knew of countless women who were wearing gemstones in their bras and underwear to achieve this result so it seemed like the perfect solution to attach the gemstones in a purposeful, beautiful, artistic way instead. And it thrilled me to the core to finally explore and connect my interest in fashion with this unique spiritual edge.

What does living a glowing life mean to you?

To me, living a glowing life is the representation of someone who radiates an energy of both positivity and calm. There’s something so magical about someone who glows this balance from their being. It’s palpable and contagious!

What advice do you have for my readers about living a glowing life?

I think it’s all about finding the right balance in your own life. You shouldn’t and really can’t copy someone else’s formula. Of course we should draw inspiration from others who radiate that glowing energy I mentioned before, but the key is in taking that inspiration and making it work for yourself. For example, you may be awe-inspired by someone who wakes at 6am for their daily meditation and yoga practice. It may be clear that this is a beautiful and helpful tool and practice that ensures their stability, focus and passion throughout the day and is a great thing to acknowledge and admire. However, if your job requires you to work late into the night or if you have small children that need your attention and care first thing in the morning, this may not be a possible endeavour for you to begin, and you shouldn’t feel bad about that. There is always time, some amount of time that you can devote to yourself that can give you that same benefit if it’s done with a grateful heart. So even a 10 minute bath soak or 5 minute savasana on your floor can be your formula for a glowing life if done with gratitude and mindfulness.

What 3 things are you most grateful for right now?

  1. I am always most grateful for my health and the health of my family.

  2. For the opportunity to meet so many inspiring women who are drawn to Chakra Intimates because they value supportive tools in their lives and see that every purchase they make has consciousness around it

  3. To live in Southern California where the sun shines almost every single day. It affords me the incredible luxury and blessing of spending so much time in nature hiking or strolling the beautiful beaches of the Pacific!

What mantra do you live by?

“I am exactly where I am supposed to be.”

I love reminding myself of this because I, like many others I assume, fall into the trap of conditioned thinking that tells us we should be doing more, accomplishing more, achieving more...it can be so exhausting trying to keep up with our own mental chatter that likes to whisper feelings of self doubt and disappointment. So when I come back to that mantra, I am immediately at ease and can move forward with my goals and visions without a specific expectation of outcome.

What would you tell someone who wants more from life, but still has lots of fears standing in the way?

First of all I would tell them that they are already on their way to attaining more from life just from expressing their desire for it. Then it’s just a matter of spending some really focused attention on asking themselves specifically what they are afraid of and journaling it all out. I can speak from my experience of creating Chakra Intimates with no previous background of starting a clothing line, that being very clear with what my intentions were, what I hoped to accomplish, what my true mission was and envisioning it all come to fruition is what made the difference in my moving forward despite the uncertainties or staying frozen in fear of failure.

What does your morning routine look like?

I wake around 7am and take a few moments to stare out of my window that usually has birds on the branches and leaves lightly fluttering. It’s so peaceful and centering. I take some slow, deep belly breaths and allow myself a few moments to feel my body and to get into a state of awe for waking and being given the gift of another day. I truly think this is the most important thing anyone can do and it only takes a few moments.

For the rest of the morning, it definitely varies. Since I work for myself, so to speak, I usually try not to book anything pressing right away. It’s really important for me to wake slowly, enjoy a cup of tea in bed while looking out the window, and talking to my husband about our plans for the day.

I would love to say I’m one of those who wake and meditate and go straight into a yoga asana, but spending that time in stillness or in quality time with my husband has proven to be what works best and I just find the time for exercise and more focused meditation throughout the day.

What is your favorite self-care activity you NEVER skip?

I NEVER skip my morning smoothie. It has become such a wonderful morning ritual to layer all the healing ingredients of fruits, veggies, superfoods and spices in my blender. As I’m adding them and blending it all up and pouring it into my glass, I envision the nutrients running through my body to give me strength from my brain to my bones. I take a moment of gratitude for the blessing of my life, the ability to purchase fresh. organic ingredients and even my Vitamix! It sets the tone for the day that I’m grateful for and committed to my health and my life.
