Late For All Your Personal Appointments? Here's Why!

Recently, I had to be really honest with my clients and they probably did not like me. I called them out on a toxic pattern. I had been called out on the exact same thing before, too, so I get it. And that’s why I needed to address it.

We were a couple of weeks into the program and nobody showed up for our call on time. The first lady came in 7 minutes late to the meeting.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I decided to reschedule the meeting to 30 minutes later. When they got on, I asked them: what was getting in the way of you showing up on time?⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Their reasons (which I call excuses) were:⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
- they had to work longer⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
- a meeting went over⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
- they had a complicated client⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

What happened here is that work was more important than their personal life.

Never late for work

I asked them: would you ever be late for a work meeting? Of course they wouldn’t. They’re perfectionist, always on time, great employees.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
But when it comes to having the same commitments to themselves and their own personal growth, somehow these rules don’t apply!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Wearing different masks in different scenarios⠀

What really happens here though is that they are a different woman at work than with themselves. They show up differently for work than they show up for themselves.

Do you potentially do this, too?

I used to always be late for massages, hairdresser, anything related with my own well-being and growth. So I know the feeling so well of prioritizing work over everything else!

The glowing version of you

How does the 2.0 version of you show up for you? You need to remember you are only one person. In order to be fully in integrity with yourself and get your glow up to the max, you have to merge that person you are at work with that person you are outside of work.

Can you be that? Can you be just you?⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

You can.

Much love, xx M
