3 Tips to Handle Post-COVID Overwhelm

Although many countries are opening up, and some activities are returning to a "new normal," many of my clients, however, have been feeling quite socially overwhelmed. There is so much to catch up on, so many friends to reconnect with and so many functions to attend (in-person!). They have been saying YES to everything, and then feeling over-committed and resentful of the pile that is building up for them.

Introverts, listen up!

And if you're an introvert perfectionist too, the chances are that you're having a hard time saying "no" to all the invitations, leaving you with a post-covid heart that feels excited but heavy. A heart that feels joyful and yet, very overwhelmed. Beauty, you are not alone.

Here are 3 simple tips to handle post-covid overwhelm:

1. Listen to your body, aka your gut feeling

Don't really wanna go? Your body always knows what's best for you. This can feel like a heaviness in your stomach, gut, or heart space, or a pressure in your head. These are signs that your body needs rest.

2. Know that you are enough anyway

Whether you go out or not, you are still loved, worthy, and enough. You don't need to say "yes" just to be liked.

3. You have so much more time

You don't need to explore everything right now. Tomorrow is another day, and next week and next month, you will have more time to do fun things for yourself.

Remind yourself that you are not missing out on anything. Everything is exactly as it should be and you are safe to prioritize your own needs, no matter what others are going to say or think of you.

You are worthy, and you deserve to fill yourself up first.
