How to Make Affirmations Work for You

"I am creating the life of my dreams."

What a powerful statement, right? If you said that statement out loud, would it be true? Would you feel excited? The fascinating thing about affirmations, other than the fact that they truly work, is that they only work if you believe that they work. Your energy about them matters, your feelings about them matters, your internal voice matters, and your subconscious belief patterns matter. So when it comes to affirmations, addressing these layers is what makes the difference between speaking affirmations that excite you and speaking affirmations that make you feel like a liar.

How the brain works

Your brain cannot actually tell the difference between what's real and what is not real. The brain is the physical place where the mind resides. Your brain has a collection of learned behaviors and thought patterns that were formed early on in your life.

Two secret steps to making affirmations work for you

Step #1: You are learning a new way

You may be saying "I am enough" or "I love myself", when deep down, you don't really believe it, because based on your past experiences and behavior, this statement is not true. That's how affirmations don't work.

You will have to find a way to say affirmations that don't make you feel like you're actually telling yourself a lie. Something like "I am learning to love myself" or "I am learning to feel good enough".

This can be a beautiful step in between to make your affirmations work for you.

Step #2: Tap into the feeling

When you don't feel it, it won't work. Even though you may not fully know what it's like to feel enough, do your best to think about a situation where you did feel enough. Cultivate that feeling in your heart space / body. Your feelings send out a vibration with which you attract more that's on that same vibration.

So, with that knowledge, are you willing to join me in repeating some powerful affirmations? Are you willing to fully embody these statements and allow your mind to believe each one as you speak them? Let's go!

I am rich.

I am healthy.

I am enough.

I am abundant.

I am rich.

I am healthy.

I am enough.

I am abundant.

I am rich.

I am healthy.

I am enough.
